Google Please Stop Calling Me! Report abuse

My HOME phone and HOME address are being called and plastered all over the net by Google because  they have mistakenly listed my house as a business. This is NOT Arbonne Please stop calling my house. I've tried everything to get google to stop calling my home. I've called, I've made reports, I've asked the reps to stop calling. They tell me there is nothing they can do. I'm posting in every public google place I can so that after today I can sue google for harassment if they call me trying to sell advertising again. I'm more than sick of it. STOP CALLING MY HOUSE.

@CamptoSee and @tickedoffinCanada: See this Help article about when we may call your business phone number —

<<In some cases, an authorized Google representative may call or email you to verify the information in your business listing. Only official representatives of Google will be able to send you an email from a google.com address. A Google representative will never ask you for your account password, but may ask you for the email address you use to sign in to your account to confirm that you are the actual account owner.>>

@tickedoff -- Live representatives call, not machines. If you have requested to verify your business listing on Google Maps for the first time — an action you proactively take via a Google Places account — we do use an automated verification system via phone. That recording gives you a PIN number, and you type that PIN number in to your Places account online. But it sounds like what your experiencing is from another company entirely, and therefore, there's not much we can do to help.

Celina,

Please, provide some more details about who is calling you and what exactly they are asking you/offering you?

If they are mistaking you for some other person/company, could you tell us which one.

Greetings,
Nyagoslav

They are claiming that my household is Arbonne Intl. It is NOT. I USED to be an Arbonne Rep but, I/my household is NOT Arbonne. The google reps don't even if me a chance to explain all of that to them before they hang up on me.

Are they asking for your address location? Have you checked online if your address and/or phone number are not erroneously associated with this company?

No. They ask if this is Arbonne. I tell them no and start to explain what I've explained above and they hang up on me but, continue to call my house everyday.

Yes it is and I've commented that page as well.

I just got a call from someone at Google claiming to be from Google Maps.  They stated that they wanted to verify the business address.  We are a cottage internet company only, but have our address listed so that folks know we are not a scam.  People order from our website and we deliver.  As soon as I told them this they hung up.  I keep getting calls from Google Places and Google Maps.  I feel like I am being scammed or that Google got hacked and I am starting to not trust Google!!!  I have already reported several things to the scam group - but that does not seem to be helping a thing!!!

I have been receiving calls several times a day from a recording that states I need to verify my Google map listing.  I do not have a business listed with Google Maps and I am SICK TO DEATH of receiving these calls.  The recording asks me to push a button to either verify my listing or get off their call list.  Yeah, right, like I am going to push buttons on a call from someone I don't even know with all the fraud going on right now!!!  These calls come from various states, same recorded voice, and I have no way of knowing if it is legit or not.  I just know I am sick enough of it to report Google for harassment in the very near future, just as the first person said - this is abuse.  I have Google accounts because I choose them, but I do not choose to be harassed.  Please offer some kind of solution or mine will be legal action.  I will record all phone numbers and messages and take them to court.

I get weekly calls about listing in Google Local Directory. I do not want to be listed in Google Local Directory, and despite my requests, both polite and otherwise, the calls keep coming. Today I told the guy who called - "John" 503 468 5548 - that I was going to report them, after he refused to divulge to me their true company identity. "You do that" was the reply.

These cowboy-esque activites are hardly in keeping with the reputation which Google has built up over the years. I hope someone can do something to curb them.

I too, have been trying forever to get google to stop calling me!!!! I have a business but DO NOT want to update my listing at all with them. I have presed 1, talked to a person and they "said" it was deleted, then instantly hung up on me. I was never deleted because I am still getting calls from them. I checked and my number is on the do not call listing, but apparently they DONT CARE. I want to know who to contact to get them to quit harassing me. Anyone have any ideas? how about a class action lawsuit for them breaking the do not call registry. I AM TIRED OF THEM AND I DONT WANT THEIR HELP!!!!

These are not from google, they are from other companies trying to scam you out of money in some way. Google generally only calls you when you create a google places account and add your business and request to confirm by a phone call. These other calls are not from google.

The Company pretending to be google is Big Fish SEM, they are very dirty on their telephone marketing. They have called more than 10 times a day for the past two weeks pretenting to be google.

They call from verious numbers mostly from 859 740 2334, one of their calls even came up as 911 140 500500 which is illegal to use pretend to be a 911 operator.

The over all problem is very broad and though I am not sure of the answer I can say as a business I havbe gotten these recorded calls asking my to update my listing with google. Early on I pressed one and went through an update on the phone asking me to verify address phone email this stuff. This call then proceded into a sales pitch to which I said I was uninterested and not have me removed from the call list. That I was not looking for this type of paid advertising. I get a call about ever couple of days from all kind of numbers. The latest have been from private numbers. Anyway this is my point a while back (time line uncure) Google started a new advertising Campaign themselves geared towards small buiness. The markets if I am saying this right has been done by them through radioads and varies other methods but and here's where I am throwing out my opinion "I believe Google is using other from for the sales side namely these stupid calls to which I don't believe google is making a sub-contactor for them. Why else would these call all have the same message but come from all different location. Ther worse is and once again this is my opinoin but I feel these sub-contractor are on the food of the food change for if I myself and company were to have such a Campaign well them my own comapny or another in good standing would be in charge and this would be publicly know now since neither is that is why I believe these calls my bery well come from such call station as have 1099 works answering these calls something I will investigate on the next call. I received one today so it may take me a day or two. Oh yea by the way other than that on in which I talked with someone I have hung up never talking to anyone else again. What with all the different changes Google is making one has to believe or feel they are falling from grace or at least the top. There tactics are becoming very questionable if you ask me
